The Heist IssueThe Heist Issue is an annual special issue of Bloomberg Businessweek, covering all kinds of heists and capers from around the world. The 2023 issue included stories like a deep dive into the world of poached rhino horns, a mysterious murder for the rarest violin in the world, and a spread dedicated to the strangest heists of that year (think 200,000 cadbury eggs, or 37,000 dollars in cadaver parts). While past Heist Issues leaned into the noir feeling usually associated with crime, I wanted to do a 180 from that, and instead lean into bold colors and animated type. I thought of the type as thieves themselves, twisting and turning to avoid capture.
